Barclays Dubai WTA Tournament

February 13, 2012

From looking at the analysis of this tournament we have noticed that the first round seems to be the best round for taking on the favourites. Strategies which favour the underdog should be mainly used in Rounds 1 to 3 but then abandoned from the Quarter finals on wards as the tournaments swings towards a bias to the favourite at that point.

This is normally because the markets now have a much better idea about form by this point of the tournament and so the favourites are correctly priced.

Its worth noting that one sided matches are quite frequent in this tournament so strategies such as the fifty-fifty or that favour matches swinging from side to side might not be suitable in Dubai.
